What is your current bike, and what are you longing for next?

My current bikes are mostly Italian, and they like to LEAN...;)

I have a red Ducati Multistrada since June 03 and currently 34.000km on the clocks. Have to visit my mechanic (next week maybe) for oil/filter change and sprockets/chain replacement.

I have put some goodies on my bella (carbon stuff and billet mostly) and got the hard panniers also etc.

Having fun - more than I even imagined - since day one :D , this bike gave me more than I expected, great choice. From every day commuting to 1000km a day tour it's absolutely perfect for me, as for the twisties.... ;)

Yep, after I "traded in" my last bike - a Honda RC 51, which was a brilliant bike, I just had to sample the NEW Honda CBR 1000RR. I'm duly impressed with the bike. It's everything I thought it would be, and more. Very smooth, highly powerful, predictable handling, and great to look at. The bike is ALL BLACK, and it's really stealthy looking. :p

I'm really happy with it, and I imagine I'll get quite a few miles out of this one (over 30K on the R1 I bought in 2000...).

So, what do YOU ride? :D

StuntBunny
10-16-2004, 01:16 AM
I'm riding Hammer's '00 R1 (not bad for a hand-me-down ;) ) I love the bike -it fits me well, runs great, and has PLENTY of get up and go. I suspect we'll get a few more twisty miles in together.

Having ridden Hammer's RC-51 and 1000RR I have to say I liked Honda's bikes - probably go for a RED 1000RR...there you go - his & hers :D

I ride a MultiStrada and love it- I also ride a Suzuki GSXR 1000 / 2003 - wonderful bike - I've always owned Ducati Twins and thought I'd never live without them - then one day for the hell of it I rode a new Gixxer - Oh my GawD!!!!! - I know, I know, it's not Italian - but let me tell you - I've ridden Ferrari's and this is like a Ferrari=- it whines like a Ferrari and it runs beautifully - true, it's not Italian but it's wonderful - it's common, it's a "tool" and it's disposable - but it's a joy to ride-

BTW - I'm 64 and an avid sport bike rider - I'm going to take my first social security check and use it at Freddie Spencer's School - that will be my second time there- I'm an avid track guy and love it-

Enjoy

Hi Gang,My current machine ..errr project is a 1993 900ss.yes shes old,but not really, ive taken her down to the frame & like all my machines in the past built her to my standards .The real truth is ive always liked real cafe racer type machines, not just machines with pipes & clipons ,im old school you know Dunstall, Dresda,Rickman,Verlicchi, etc. One offs i really fancy,Factory works machines really get me pumping, and with all the machines ive built and its many,im left with the 900ss & Tracy 550 honda. The 900 is almost ready to go ,ive plans still for a Tangential header,Discaciatti rear master,& some other stuff ,the wayshe sits now ,i really dont need that stuff , shes set up really right, but why stop now.Eventually ill finish her up & take her on her maiden voyage. The Honda ,i dont use at all,as a matter of fact just 3 months ago i gave her a thorugh going over from rebuilding the forks ,carbs ,added bigger rotor & caliper,& a bunch of other trick stuff, since ive had her for 13 yeras now & she was part of a then large stable ,i gave her the attention i really thought she deserved, even to just sit their ,just knowing at any given time she can be briught up to speed is a hoot.Whats in my next project... ever since i sold my 1978 900ss ,1978 860gts euro,& the lil darling that i saved from total scrap, the 1961 diana 250 serial #DM2500003,yup #3 with factory clip ons & stuff ,these machines are in Japan now along with my CR500 Dunstall H1..that was the trickest of them all & made a couple of magazines..anyway i really miss my old machines to say the least ,so i took it out on the 93ss tha i purchased just 3 years ago & havent stooped since ,which brings me to my plans for the Imola 750 bevel ive been wanting to build for some years now,i know just what id like to do ,however the $$$ involved override my passions at the moment so thats on hold ,with the MV i also havea real desire for ,yup a good old MV 750 ,love those Italian works of art,yet 30k plus is a bit much & back to the ole $$$ thingy..one day though ill do it,in the meantime i can slip by with the tangential header & rear master, & maybe the magnesium valve & cam covers..do i need this stuff ..no ,does the 900ss you bet you!you can view my lil roadster & 900 on the club site,http://geocities.com/when_pigs_fly_mc/ later...RS

It may sound crazy, but I didn't like the blue colored OZ rims on the Factory so I went with the R version. The Ohlins forks would have been nice, especially since they can hold up to deer :)
The Arrow slipons sound soooo much better than the stock pipes.

I can say in all honesty, Ran is correct. IMO his bike sounds like a high perf. twin should sound like. I purposly ride right on his rear tire just so I can get full volume of that bee-yew-tee-fulll Music ;) Ran, how do ya get a picture up there??

Down below in the Additional Options there's an option to "attach files"
I don't think there is a limit on file size but I try an keep the pics kinda small for viewing/loading.

KP,

Now THAT is what I call some heavy hitting two wheeled machinery!!! One of the more valuable collections on this site - for sure!;)

That Polini pocketbike with the Ducati MotoGP replica paint job is probably one of the coolest bikes on Kneeriders.com. Care to trade me for an MV Agusta F4S? http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/17/17_1_10.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZSXXXXXXXXUS)

Thanks for the levity - when are you going to post some photos of those sweet machines?

Nice list Kneepuff!!!!

I also have a pocketbike. I have a GRC RR 8.5 HP. For those of you that have never ridden one, They are a BLAST!!!! I have also never seen anything more capable of teaching throttle control, Than pocketbikes. They are truly amazing!!

I also have a 2000 R6 Track bike, A 2002 Aprilia RSVR, and A KTM 250 SX for the dirt. I think my next toy is going to be a Honda CRF 450 Motard.

I used to own a 01 748s. Now, I semi own it because my dad decided to keep it cause I almost sold it for nothing.

The 748 was a nice bike, but too many problems.
Now, I am looking into buying the new Repsol Honda or the 05 gixxer 1k.

This is what it used to look like:

I am currently on a 2004 Honda 600RR, black with silver wings :D . It is my first sport bike, and I absolutely LOVE it. I've ridden a few other bikes, incluing a GSX-R 750, but am really happy with the power and handling that this little 600 packs... No major mods, yet... I have put in the K & N filter and the slip on RS-5 Yoshimura pipe. I'm contemplating the Power Commander. Anyone put one of these on their RR yet? Feedback?
I think I will be peeling off the stock panel stickers and purchasing a kit from Tapeworks.com. Will also be doing a slight mod to the Speedo/Tack instrument cluster (picture below).
Future bike in mind will probably be a 2004 GSX-R750. :)
