DECEMBER 6th GRAND PRIX EVENT!

Mark your calendars now for our DECEMBER GRAND PRIX EVENT at RACE PLACE MOTORSPORTS. This event will be held Saturday night, DECEMBER 6th at RPM, the awesome indoor go kart track located on Bradshaw Road right off of Highway 50.

WHEN:...............SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6th
WHAT:...............We will be racing the "Grand Prix" format and we need at least 10 confirmed racers to sign up in order to make it happen. The Grand Prix format entails everyone racing two 25 lap sessions. The top ten fastest racers then participate in a final race which is also 25 laps.

RACE TIME:......... Arrive BY 8:45 pm for check in, trash talk, and pre-race instructions. DON'T BE LATE.

WHERE:.............. RPM 3130 BRADSHAW ROAD

GEAR..................Gear is provided, but I suggest you bring your own helmet (motorcycle helmet is fine) and driving gloves if you have them. You must wear closed toed shoes. ( You are going to sweat like crazy in the jumpsuit they provide so bring a change of clothes if you plan to wear your pants / shirt under the driving suit).

COST:................$42 (WHAT A STEAL!!!) if you have your own helmet or $47 if you need to wear their helmet (the charge is for the headsock they will give to you to wear under the helmet and then it is yours to keep.) This is a special KNEERIDERS.COM rate thanks to Brent, the owner of RPM.

Check in with us in the lobby before you check in at the desk so that you get the KNEERIDERS.COM event discount and so that we don't start without you!

This one will probably be well attended so you will need to reserve your spot early if you plan to attend. Post up here to reserve your spot on the grid or PM me.

A special thanks to Brent Webb, the owner of RPM, for working with us to make this an enjoyable experience for all participants, and for extending a generous discount to KNEERIDERS.COM members.

Special Note - RULE #1

Winning isn't everything, but it sure is fun to win or place on the podium. I know I would LOVE to do that one of these days! :D But, keep in mind that if you have to win or reach the podium by purposely spinning people out / hard contact to get by them, you WILL be disqualified.

If you are going to pass someone you should have to EARN it. It just isn't fair to those who have run a clean and competitive race. If you accidentally (or intentionally) impact / spin out someone and they lose their place because of it, you must let that racer back in the line up at the spot they were prior to the incident.

ALL KNEERIDERS.com RPM GP's are run with this rule...and it has led to probably the most fair (and fun) GP's we've had (even though the chicks are now dominating the podium :p). Many drivers have remarked on what a change there has been for the better, and we know all the future GP's will be better because of it!

Special Note #2

We have to book extra time if we have more than 10 racers - that is why we need to know ahead of time if you plan to attend. Last minute entries may not get to participate so plan ahead, POST UP, and we'll all get to race.

Now, come on out and let's have FUN! :D

Cory,

We have 10 drivers scheduled for the event at this point. Let me take a quick role call and see if any are planning to skip out. If so, we'll have a free spot, and you can come and "rub plastic" with us! :p

What a great time we had at the RPM GP this past Saturday night. A good turnout with a fun (and FAST) group of drivers. :D

It was great seeing some faces we hadn't seen in a while (Chris and Diedra, John - Fastfar -), and meeting some new people too! Scott, Jessica, Ed and Sean were the new attendees. All great drivers, and fun to dice with.

So now for the results... Our collective goal wasn't to keep SB from winning the final (which seems impossible these days), but to keep her from winning "ALL 3" races!

Well, SB started first on the grid in the first race...I followed her and waited patiently for a mistake to capitalize on...which never came. She led wire to wire, and won the race easily.

The second race, Paulie, SB, and myself started on the last 3 positions on the grid. It was a crazy race with many lead changes, a BIG pile up in T#1, and some black flags too. Probably the most fiesty race in some time in one of "OUR" GP's there. After it was all said and done, SB finished second in this race...but almost got the win. Our goal for the evening had been achieved! :p

In the final, SB was on Pole, and frankly ran away. She got some new "driving shoes" for her birthday, and we all thought they'd be worth 2 tenths at least. Coincidentally, she went 2 tenths of a second faster than she ever had before, doing 17.7 second lap times. I believe next time she'll be 17.5 or lower.

The final was a blast overall, and we all diced and had a lot of fun - that's what counts. With new drivers in the hizouse, and good times with all, it was a great way to spend a Saturday evening! KUDO's to Cory Mann (bbilly) who wasn't kidding when he said "It's on RB" in his post above. He skillfully, used a lapper to drop me like a hot potato during the mid point of the final, and drove well the entire time to place on the podium - NICE JOB CORY!!! :D KUDO'S as well to Paulie who was THISCLOSE to making the podium in only his SECOND attempt at Kart Racing. He did lap times approaching 17 seconds...and he was fast EVERYWHERE! I have a feeling HE may be the only guy to unseat SB for the title!

A shout out to Diedra...I hope you're not too sore after the big pile up! ;)

John, Ed, Scott and Jessica - thanks to each of you for making this GP a lot of fun. We hope you'll join us for our JANUARY event - check this forum soon for that posting! ;)

I'll be posting the January GP soon, and I'll look forward to seeing you all out there!!! :D I'm attaching some photos from Saturday's GP for your viewing pleasure.

Wish you could have made it too Joe.
I did much better this time around, first heat I finished 3rd, 2nd heat I started wayyyy back but managed to work my way up to 7th and in the final I just missed a trophy, finishing 4th.
Best of all I had no spin outs and no penalty box. Also improved my best lap time by a smidge, 18.10

SB was Awesome as always, she's the fastest woman I know. No matter what she's riding or driving,... SHE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More fun than a speeding ticket...I sucked at RPM my 1st time out, but that will change the next time I race so lookout SB, I got you and RB in my gunsights and I'm talkin' smack-down in January... at least I didn't spin out, and I was nice enough to let the faster drivers pass...I only got 2 rolled-up black flags pointed at me in the first 3 laps and none thereafter, so you know I can handle a steep learning curve...have fear in your hearts, I will return...bwhahahaa!...
