Uh, oh. John's got an Elka. Who's got a cheap Ohlins for my 636? I gotta be able to keep up!

If you mean Parsons I think his rear is a HyperPro which I have as springs front and rear now. If this Elka performs like that on my Adventure I'm really in for a treat.

Don't worry I still won't be outrunning YOU.

Oops, no I meant you Dave. Seighin and I went out for sushi and I was two large sakis to the wind when I started typing other peoples names. Sorry about that.

A&S mounted the Elka for me Wednesday. I was able to ride it to work Thursday and noticed a remarkable difference in ride quality on I-80. Didn't get to try corners, however.

Today after I mounted a new Corsa III to the rear I headed of to scrub in the new tire and test out the Elka.

All I can say is these shocks keep you planted. You can really feel these things working thru their range of travel. They are much less abrupt and provide much better control than the stock shock. Even with wet/sandy roads and sporting a new rear I had more confidence today than I've had since my crash in October. This shock has mentally put me back to pre-crash confidence except now I have a bike that handles even better.

I STRONGLY encourage trying these. I had a set on my Adventure and the results were just as good. The ride quality is second to none.

Give Tige at CycleMall a call and let him tell you about them. He's got plenty of info on them and he REALLY does a great job in following up. How many vendors ship you an item and then follow up to make sure you got it?? Not many but Tige does.

Tige+Elka=works for me.

Way to go on helping Dave out with this one Tige!

DAVE: Why don't you bring the 800 next time we ride together...I'd LOVE to see that thing working with the new shock...SWEET! ;) You should also bring the 800 to the track days - that bike will ROCK there!

I might just bring it on the next ride. I'm also considering how I could get both bikes to the track at the same time just to bounce back and forth between them.

REALLY good. It's still been to cold/wet to really push it but the difference is still noticeable. The freeway ride is one of the best I've ever had.

Once is dries out and warms up I'll push it a bit harder but even in the cold it's awesome!

It's likely to get tested on the track at the KneeRider's track day in March.
