Black belt club as in a commitment ot earn your black belt?
Until recently, I taught Kenpo. Now my free time is dominated by work, school and racing. It was a tough choice giving up Kenpo; but, I'll be back when I finish up school.

Don't get me started on the current state of many karate schools. As they've become more and more economically viable, I've seen more and more "belt farms" pop up. Pay your money, get your belt. A black belt doesn't mean what it formerly did.
:sigh:
There are some really good schools still out there and the Sacramento area is home to some truly gifted old school masters.

I don't know Meeks, myself. I can trace his family tree and it looks very Legit. Training from Vic LaRoux and Chuck Sullivan.
Kenpo split into a lot of factions when Ed Parker died. He didn't really declare a successor and American Kenpo split into about 5 or 6 variations that I know of. It looks like Meeks is affiliated with IKCA, which I don't know much about.
I learned what's called Kosho-Shorei Kenpo. It's a very traditional based form of Kenpo with a push back to the roots.
Kosho-Shorei Kenpo, I've heard that before, I'm not sure if it's the same as my system, but maybe it is, or not, because lots kenpo schools in California is mixed with another style, like my school. My system is chinese kenpo but Mr. Meeks mixed it up with Jeet Kune do, and some jujitsu, and lots of other thing, so it's not purely kenpo. Maybe about 60% is kenpo style and 40% of mixed martial arts.
