A great time was had by all who attended the 1st official Corsamini Maddness practice session / party. The Red Baron and I arrived at StuntBunny and Hammer's party shack at the designated hour to find Hammer stacking firewood and sprucing up his "corners". StuntBunny was in the kitchen making springrolls which later proved to be absolutely scrumptious!!!
1000RR and reditaliana were no where to be found because they were at Beenthere and Didthat's putting together their Corsamini's. Yeah, sure ;) I have it on good authority that some super modifications were being done to at least one of their new little rides. In the meantime, we - SB, Hammer, RB, Katie, her friend Colleen, and myself headed out to the school for some rip roaring fun! However, we ran into a herd of horses at the local school preparing for the Santa Parade so we paraded ourselves to the church down the street.
Katie was the first to jump on a bike and go! go! go! We could hear her joyous screams all the way around the church parking lot. She had that thing rocking! Colleen was next and took off like a bat out of _____ (well, you know where.) You would never know it was her first time on a Corsamini! I see 2 future kneeriders there! Next it was SB, Hammer, and myself rocking around the parking lot getting it on! RB manned the video camera and caught all of the action on film! Soon 1000RR and reditaliana showed up with their gleaming pocket rockets and joined the fun! Speed, speed and more speed was the goal of the day! Cutting those corners, building up speed in the stairghtaways, and trying to do it with a straight face - NOT!
We were not without incident, though. reitaliana can tell the rest of us all about lowsiding the corsamini in the left turn. 2 outings, 2 wrecks - but who's keeping score, right? Katie had her first kneedown experience but proved to be okay and ready to ride again!
Hammer is the first one, so far, to pull a power wheelie on the Corsamini! You go Hammer!!!!! Our hero! We'll be looking forward to seeing the video that RB took of the racing between the ladies, the wheelie and all of the rest of the action. Can't wait to see the pictures that 1000RR and reditalian took as well (Hey, you guys, post 'em up here when you get a chance.)
We sure missed Beenthere and Didthat. We are looking forward to seeing them at the next event. DON - get yourself all healed up and come out and show us how it is done. If you can't ride, come out and cheer us on.
The fog started rolling in about 4:30 and we headed back to the party shack for some excellent BBQ, drinks, great conversation, fun and laughter. Hammer BBQ'd up some awesome chicken, brats, ribs, and brisket. Tastey sidedishes of potato and mac. salad, broccoli salad, and plenty of wine accompanied the main courses. Dessert of lemon bars, lemon cookies, German chocolate 'Puffcakes and motoGP DVD s rounded out the evening. We know how to do it up right!
A GREAT time was had by all. Thanks to our hosts SB and Hammer for providing us with the best party spot ever and super hospitality. Let's do it again real soon! Hope to see everyone at the next big event! Remember : YOU MISS A PARTY - YOU MISS ALOT!
